I don't think that they should've let her out. However, there is a new state law which allows rich people who are "relatively good citizens" to pay a certain fee to serve a sentence without actually being in a jail cell. The reason why they have this new law is because jails are overcrowded and are, usually, under-funded. So, this is a way for prisons to reduce their capacity and simultaneously make money. And I suspect Paris Hilton, and her family, is using this law to get her out of the prison.

*BTW, the whole medical thing is just a cover-up to the real reason why she is getting out.

I think its pathetic. She spent 3 whole days of an original 45 day sentence. If they do it for her then why not everybody else. What kind of a statement does that make? No matter what you do, don't worry it will go away.

Our justice system at it's finest. So pathetic. Paris is a disgrace to human beings.

I have even less respect for her now than I previously did-she should have served the whole term and handled it with class, like Martha Stweart did.

She couldn't even handle a week-what a joke she is.

I think it's too light to give her the home detention, because she won't learn that way. Then again, maybe she won't learn anyway.
