Her coments were a little rough but Wie needs to stay out of all men's events until she wins on the LPGA. I don't care how old she is. She needs to mature alot before doing any of this.

No. Everyone wants to call golf a sport and say its players are athletes. Then it's time to start acting like it. Trash talk has been a part of sports since they began. It is a great tactic by Anika to get into the 17 year olds' head. She is young and maybe she wont be able to handle this. If she comes out firing and the next couple matches are great for her than she is mature enough to handle it. I think it was a great move by Anika.

If Michelle Wie can't handle an insult, she's going to have a long and miserable life as a sports figure.

And it doesn't sound like Wie's given it another thought.

Annika is reasonably frustrated because of all she's had to endure in the sport. Along comes a young kid who gets away with empathy over a minor injury, then shows up to practice like there was no problem, and she's Annika is rightfully annoyed that this girl seems to have no respect for the serious nature of a tournament.

It's going to happen a lot more as younger kids who were raised as spoiled brats interact with adults who worked hard to get where they are. (I'm not implying that Wie is actually a spoiled brat, but that's how Annika seemed to interpret her actions.)

But here's another way to look at it:

Imagine if some young "kid" of 29 got elected to the Senate somehow, and during debates on the floor he promptly told Ted Kennedy to "go f* yourself ya old drunk geezer!" There would be outrage and insults hurled at the "kid" who shows "no respect" for the institution of Congress. (Frankly, the public would be laughing and cheering and saying, "YES! YES! AT LAST!!!") But there would be plenty of fellow Senators telling the newbie not to act that way... while actually JEALOUS that he had the balls to say what's on his mind and get such a positive reaction from the public.

Michelle Wie is way overrated; she is the second coming of Anna Kournikova. A pretty face and body with ridiculously weak mental focus and concentration. What a joke how media portrays her. She sucks, if you want to watch big boobie swinging backforth, a golf course is not the place.

I recall Wie saying she doesn't need to go to college because she plays golf so well. Ever since then I've had little to no respect for her. She's a snide, egotistical woman with a lot ot learn. Points to Sorenstam for taking a stab!!!

No I think the real reason she quit the tournament is because she was about to be shooting an 88, they said she was only 2 bogies away from that. If she did do that then she would be out for the next year for shooting a score that high and would not qualify to continue on playing
