if you wait another year, well until january of 08 then you can get the new 2008 camaro for under 22 grand, well it acualy will be about the same asking price as a mustang

New I'd go with a Civic SI (21k) or an Acura TSX (28k) or maybe a Miata MX-5.
Used there's the Benz C320, Audi S4, or a Volvo S60. Heck I even saw an '04 T-bird convertible that will fit in that range.
