I have been wearing this bra for a few weeks now, the size fits me well, but recently I feel pain under my breasts, I think it's the underwire. All my bras have underwires, and I definitely am not going to throw them away. What can I do to solve this problem? I've thought of cutting out the wire, but I don't really want to spoil the bra. PLease help!

I cut the wire out of my bras. Try doing that to one of your older bras. You'll see it doesn't ruin them, it just relaxes the look a little but your chest is still in place.

Any item of clothing that causes pain in this most vulnerable of areas should be thrown out - simple as that.

Underwired bras are not good for breasts, and if it's actually hurting you, you'd be mad to carry on wearing it, frankly.

There is a very thought provoking book, I think it's called 'Dressed To Kill' which looks at a lot of evidence linking bras to breast cancer. It's the same as when men are now often told not to wear tight pants/boxers/etc because it can affect their sperm count in an adverse way.

Try buying one bra that has no wires in it and wearing it for a while to see if that helps the pain. If it does then you need to find a better bra that fits and doesn't cause pain. If that doesn't help then see your doc.

My wife is huge breasted and never wears underwires. She wears those Playtex types with tons of thick cloth bands running every which way. She seems well supported, even when playing sports, and never complains about pain below her breasts. They ain't too sexy, but they work.

Nothing goes right when your underwear's tight. You should try cutting out the wires and if that is no help, give up on that bra.
