It feels the wind/air pressure change long before the swatter gets to it. The trick is to swing at a point 5 inches in front of it. You will catch it just as it jumps off to start to fly. Works every time!

Flies have hairs on its body that detects motion. It's the same with cockroaches. If you want to get rid of the fly, try getting a venus flytrap or a tropical insect eating plant like sundew or pitcher plant, they attract flies very well and they eat them. Another thing to do, is to wear the fly down by making fly around for a while, and when it stops to rest and groom its face, it's your best chance to attack.

Flies are not clever:D.
The way a fly sees things is in slow motion. So when it see something coming towards it , it flies Away FAST!
The key to killing a fly is to be VERY , very slow, Aka in slow motion.
This has worked for me almost every time.:)

Some flies have swatter radar, not all of them, thank goodness. It just makes more challenge for the hunt!

Did you know that flies have excellent vision, they have millions of pupils in their eyes. That is why it's so difficult to swat them down.

Thanks. You made me laugh with that question.

Actually I believe they have little hairs on their back which help them sense there is something coming towards them. So they fly away...
