France knew who won its presidential elections immediately after close of polling. How was this possible?

Statistical calculations applied to exit polls allow news organizations to announce the winner immediately after polls close. In the US, before the 2000 debacle, news organizations routinely announced the winner even before polls closed on the west coast.

the U.S. mainly, becuz of the electorial college. it's thier votes that actually make the difference. the peoples vote is merely 4 show 2 make people think that thier making a difference, when n all actuality, thier not!!!
