For those who don't know. A topper is an 11ft sailing dinghy, so named because it was designed to fit on top of a car. Main sheet (rope) goes at the rear, rather than at the centre like a Laser. Is very nice as a beginners racer / single handed boat. Be prepared to get very wet though and if you didn't capsize, you weren't trying hard enough.

The manufacturers website may have a list of sail numbers and approximate years of issue. I think Isailed a 20,000 series in the late 90s so yours could be up to 10 years old at a guess.

More important is the condition of the hull. The fibre-glass was quite soft and a rough hull could seriously slow you down if you race. Being fairly thin there's a limit to how much sanding and polishing you can do.

Have fun.

Sorry, we've all got a question for you: In what sport is a topper used? And what the heck IS it?
Even if with your greater knowledge, your Web-searching isn't finding any answers, some of us MAY be able to help. But withOUT that greater knowledge, it's perfectly hopeless! Please either post "Additional Details," or post again with adequate information to orient us.
Or, of course, you can just hope that somebody sees this question who DOES know what you're talking about.

Do you mean a top hat? You would have to contact manufacturer and quote that number, or a reputable auction reference book may help.
