Rev 2:10 tells us we need to be faithful unto death so that would mean being at church whenever the elders have set up for worship, to be involved in other works that you are able to do and to live a Christian life when you aren't in church.
Rev 3:16 talks about those who are lukewarm and how He will spew them out of His mouth.
Baptism (immersion) is only one step to salvation. We must Hear, Believe, Repent, Confess, Be Baptized and Be Faithful all our lives. We can't pick and choose and apply what we want when there is more than one step to follow. God is a loving God but He does expect us to follow ALL of His commands, not just a few.
God bless

Yes, but I do not go to church anymore. I was raised a Baptist but live in New York State. I found growing up that a lot of those at our church only showed up or contributed to the church on certain occasions. They were very phony. They would only come to church to show off new cars, clothes, etc. on holidays. Then there were the people who claimed to be so very religious but would bad mouth others not of their way of thinking or some other ethnic group.
I try and live a, what we call, Christian life. I try and do as much good as I can. I keep God in my heart. I pray and talk to him all the time. I do not believe that only those who go to church will go to heaven or where ever we go. Look at all the people that go to church, confess their sins, and just go right back out and do it again. Criminals and others try and pay their way into heaven. Don't they think God knows what they are doing? Who do they think they are fooling?
I believe in the old, old ways. God is all around us and in all things, the air, the grass, the sky and the animals. This world is a large church to worship in anyway you see fit and you can do it anywhere you want. It is also a lot cheaper as you are not being told how much money you have to contribute to the church just so you can go there. I also remember years ago a Catholic friend of mine having a panic attack because she forgot and ate bologna on a Friday. Come on. Talk about brainwashing.

I believe in God, but I do not believe that a specific church is going to get you into heaven. Your belief in God and trying to live a righteous life will however.
Going to church is a fellowship for people and I do believe that there are some people who go to church every time the door opens and then do worse than any of us who don't go every Sunday or to the revivals. But, i will not judge them as I do not want them judging me..

Wrong category - this is mythology. Your 'god' doesn't affect me at all, nor does the idea of church. Nor do I believe in your 'heaven.' My beliefs are much older than your christianity, and don't demand anything other than faith.
To get a real answer, I'd delete and post in Religion and Spirituality

I think that's the wrong question to ask. Doing the bare minimum to get into heaven is a slippery slope that will lead you further away from God, and to an unfulfilling life. (Besides, you also want to minimize the time you have to spend in purgatory. So given that I would suggest doing everything you can.)

I don't want to go nor am I going to heaven. Nothing wrong with the earth after a little clean up job. I don't find anything of value in churches or religion as a whole. Seek your answers elsewhere (and certainly not on Yahoo Answers!).

For God so loved the world that he gave his only son and whoever believes in him shall not parish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16
If you believe in God and you repent your sins then don't worry so much. You don't have to earn your way into heaven. God wants us to try and live without sin, but he knows we are weak and he loves us and wants us to do good. By believing that God sent his son Jesus to die for us and that we are saved you are confirming to God that you believe and want to obey him. You will spend eternity with him.

i believe in God but i believe in order for you to go to heaven you need to ask God to forgive you of your sins by praying the sinners prayer. after you have done that you would need to get baptized again b/c baptism is just showing the world that you have been saved it does not save you. God will allow you into heaven as long as you have him as your personal savior and going to church just adds to your rewards you will earn in heaven.
Hope this helps!

hi! good question there. im a catholic and for me i blve that no one goes to heaven straight. purgatory wud be the first drop off. we are judged first before tranferrance. no one is without sin except God Himself of course. but my councilor mentioned that even if i dont know the prayers, or i dont go to church oftern anuf and just pray at home, God won't count that as bad. He still wud see the effort we do towards doing good and helping others as well as when we call upon Him. no worries...just have a strong faith and talk to Him anytime you feellike it. He's always there for all of us no matter what.

Christ in you the desire of glory. each and every physique looks to omit the factor of Christ making you initaly holy (salvation). Christ saves somebody so which you would be able to desire to pass to him. What provides him ths actual to be so slender in his salvation plan? first, he created each and every little thing John a million, 2nd, he grew to grow to be a sacrifice to atoe (to make amends) for sin. third, He rose from the lifeless and His Father gave him the situation as Lord and grasp. so if the lord and grasp provided a manner of salvation from sin that demands us to repent (turnfrom sin) and turn twords Christ in faith (believe in who he's and what he did) confessing our choose for his salvation. thats the requirement for his salvation and to go into his heaven to be a piece of his relatives. Its straight forward in case you want to pass to his heaven shop on with Him, in case you dont shop on with somebody else. Oh and it additionally says that each and every individual will additionally come under his judgment, so there is not any different salvation in anny different neither is there the different call under heaven wherein we'd desire to be saved. Salvation belonges to Jesus Christ on my own, its His heaven, his church, and His international. it incredibly is the claims of Christ and actual Christianity. You dont might desire to have self assurance its actual yet it fairly is an actual description of Christianity and salvation. you are able to't be a Christian in the previous Christ forgives you Justifies you and facilitates you to stay a holy existence. So dont merely attempt to be sturdy, attempt to come across Christ, who he's, what he's, and have him substitute you.
