would she have gotten house arrest? Lil Kim wasn't out driving drunk. She just refused to talk about a murder she knew about because she feared for her life. Its claimed she perjured herself like Pres Clinton did. So was he supposed to be in jail too because he's more acceptable to blacks than whites? Why can't Americans see how racially divided this country really is? Now you see why "people" were happy when OJ got off. We KNOW he did it and we were just as shocked as "you" were but we just get tired of feeling like we just can't get a fair trial. Hundreds of black people were lynched all over America and never received ANY type of trial. The injustices continue and no one seems to speak out or care. White people continue to say, "its not that bad" or "things are different now." Uh, yeah. Right. Let's see them be black in a shiny new car driving in suburbia and see if they don't get stopped for DWB (driving while black).

I'm sure white people will read this question and be up in arms about it. But unless they've lived as a person of color, where they are ALWAYS under constant scrutiny by whites, they'll just never understand.

First of all, other than Lionel Richie, Nicole Ritchie is NEVER around ANYONE of color. She identifies with WHITES because of how she looks. She is more white than white bread and white rice. And for Mr. Obviousity, according to your "logic" there are no black men in college, none that are doctors, lawyers or any type of professionals whatsoever. If you really want to check into it, ask a person of Arabic descent who they check off when they come to this country. 100% of the time, they check off white. Why? Because of their complexions, they're more acceptable than Latinos & Blacks. These same men crashed three planes on 9/11. Not because Black people let them in the country but because they were more acceptable to whites. For years, you come into black communities to buy drugs & to be johns, then turn around and drive out to your white suburbs. Thankfully, more and more meth labs & whore houses are being located in your suburban areas. Now maybe we can clean up the cities!

PrettyBaby-you don't care because it doesn't affect you. Try being a person of color for a day, even half a day and see if you cared then.

To jessicamichelle & everybody else that is tired of the "race card being played." Stop doing things that show you're a racist and the race card won't be played. But you can't can you?

p00756-I can't begin to imagine the hardship that the Irish must have endured. However, they're still white being mistreated by guess who? Other whites. Yeah, I agree its true that the more cash you have, the easier it is. But there is nothing like being white and rich, come on. Its better than sitting on top of the world. I also agree that what happened and continues to happen to American Indians is disgusting. Its unfortunate that ALL people of color, Indians, Blacks & Latinos don't unite and keep racism from happening.

Professional ball players? Yeah, they commit crimes too but nothing like the cash gotten from oh, I don't know, let's say Enron, Haliburton & Kmart CEOs. When people of color commit a crime, its usually for some stupid small amount and they get a huge sentence. We don't hear about the crimes committed in suburbia because enough money is being spent to keep it out of the news.

If Paris was poor... and any race... she would have gotten picked up and thrown in jail THE FIRST TIME she was pulled over driving on a suspended license. That whole "sign here to show that you know that you aren't supposed to be driving" thing was BS.
Edit: I knew some idiot was going to come in here and claim that black people commit more crimes. FALSE. Blacks don't commit more crimes, but if you are in an area purposely looking to find someone committing a crime, guess what? You're going to find them! There are no white communities that get scrutinized and watched over like they do in black communities. All of those meth labs are where? In the boondocks. It's all BS. White people commit the most crimes, they get off with weaker penalities, however, and that's why the prision population is out of wack. But you go on believing that load of bull if you would like to.

You know I completely agree with you. I'm hispanic, and although I haven't been scrutinzied a lot, I understand what it feels like to be part of a group that is looked down on. People right now are trying to build a wall to keep illegal immigrants out, and I understand some of it, but these immigrants are the ones doing jobs that nobody wants and they're doing it for practically pennys! Meanwhile, the rich white society is living it up, breaking the law, and thinking that they know how the world should be when they really have no idea what its like to live each day wondering if you'll have enough money by the end of the week to eat. Many children are going without food everyday (most illegal immigrants bring their children here for an education and that's pretty much the only place they get to eat - I know because I was a teacher in a school where my students came in hungry after a weekend of no food).
I hate that the rich, white society, thinks they are above the law, and they do nothing to help. Sure they can go help other countries that are starving, and can adopt poor children from other countries, but what about all those American children who are born into poverty and living in the streets??

I think its great that Paris is going to jail because it will definetely give her a taste of life and how cruel it can be to you. I don't think she'll ever learn her lesson I mean with the way she is she's probably going to come out saying that the experience changed her life and most likely make orange suits into a fashion must have just like those ankle bracelet things that I've seem already been worn by other celebrities. Yeah right about getting herself pardoned she's still a U.S. citizen and she broke the law, she just needs to learn that if you brake the law whether your rich or not you're still going to jail. I haven't heard anything about her mom, but I'm sure she's just as stupid as Paris is- Like mother, like daughter.

I am white and I totally disagree with the special treatment Paris has received. However, please remember how the Irish were persecuted when they came to America. People would have signs in the shop windows saying, "NO Irish Need Apply".
My husband is 1/2 Cherokee Indian. Have you heard of the Trail of Tears. They were forced from their homes and made to march to Oklahoma and live on a reservation.
By the way I am part Irish.
Life isn't fair but we have to keep trying to right the wrongs.

i dont think it has anything to do with color/race. Its all about the money!! its ridiculous how all these "famous" ppl can get away with anything including murder (OJ)
& its unfair for the rest of the world!! Im sure Paris will continue her life as normal & her police record will not affect her "career"
as it would affect a normal person trying to get a job!!! WHAT THE LAWS ARE TELLING SOCIETY IS THAT IF U GOT MONEY THEN DO AS U PLEASE & IF U DONT UR SH** OUT OF LUCK!! NOW PARIS CAN WRITE A TELL ALL BOOK OF HER "HORRIBLE" EXPERIENCE OF BEING LOCKED UP!! POOR BABY...GO MAKE SOME MORE MONEY SO THE NEXT TIME SHE BREAKS THE LAW SHE ONLY DO 5 MINS IN JAIL!!!!

Your argument really doesn't hold water, look at all the pro athletes every year that commit crimes and are shown leniency because they are professional athletes. The majority of them are black, but I think it has to do with money. The more money you have the more you can get away with and the more attention you need for some reason.

Hey, OJ was rich, and he got away with murder? And what about michael Jackson, who was found not guilty of child molestation? She was found guilty because she is white. OJ was found not guilty, because because of the fear of retribution by the black community. Jackson was found not guilty becaus he was rich.

It's a sad commentary, but if every black person were suddenly taken out of America, the crime rate would plummet!
Very simply, blacks are more prone to crime than any other group in America. So do you blame us for immediately suspecting a black person for certain crimes.
Blacks are disproportionately represented in prison. Why? Because they commit the most crimes. Sad, but true.
Put all black males in holding camps and most violent crime goes away overnight.
Yeah, I think you see why blacks are not exactly trusted by the law establishment.
When you clean up your own house--quit protecting thugs, quit celebrating music that is violent and obscene, quit having 70% of your children out of wedlock--check back with us and we'll see if we can't do things differently.
