John K: Why's that? We've only had 2 foreign terror attacks within the borders of this country in our entire history. So what evidence do you have to support your theory?

YOU: American embassies are not within the borders of the United States. Nor are aircraft carriers.

Because most of the terrorists, including the ones from 9/11, were here legally, or citizens. They aren't in Iraq, like some people think...

Because "fighting them there" is the stupidest slogan ever. There's nothing to stop them from just coming over here no matter what we do over there. They can just leave Iraq. Or they can just make a phone call to one of their cells who are already here. And it's not like every terrorist comes from Iraq. Stupid, stupid slogan. It's all based on the fundamental mistake of thinking that we can fight terrorism mostly with military force. That's why they are terrorists, people - because military force is our advantage, so they go around it.

By forcing them to confront us in Afghanistan and Iraq the leadership has been forced underground and fears any sort of electronic communications. They have had to commit people and materials to that theater as well.
This results in any terror cells in other countries (like our own) having to fend for themselves in order to live. They have to get jobs and interact with people. Cut off from their leadership, they have to try to take the initiative on their own. If they need more people they have to recruit locally. If they need weapons or chemicals they have to purchase them. As we have seen, all of this exposes them to the possibility of discovery.
The longer they are out of touch with the rest of the radical group, the weaker ones may loose their stomach for it and out of fear of being killed by their own fellow terrorists they may roll over. There are all kinds of reasons they are becoming exposed. The major pressure on them is the war.

There also many attacks and deaths from attacks on American embassies as well as attacks on American tourists.
The plots that have been PREVENTED are an indication that we are not safe. but measures are in place to help, so far they have been succesful...count yourself lucky, other nations have not been as lucky.

Because our law enforcement officials are doing their job. If we had not gone to war I believe you would see much more domestic terrorist activity than you see now.
