My own opinion is that its not real. It obviously involves intricate manoeuvres that require precise timing. For two heavy, muscled professionals in a ring, the actions must appear and will be real enough - if you or I were involved, we would certainly get hurt - simply coz we're not as fit, we don't understand the range of moves (which move is safe/unsafe) and our timing would be fairly slack.
Note also that this is also a dynamic event, where it would be impossible to plan the moves from beginning to end, and there is a reliance on the moderation of strength and force by the wrestling partners. As with all things preparation is all.
Unfortunately, things don't always go to plan for these highly trained, specialised athletes. There have been a number of accidents in the ring that finish a wrestler's career.
The fact that these mock battles involve big men and such enormous forces requires split-second timing to reduce the potential for real harm and a supreme level of health and fitness. They may well leave the ring with a few bashes and bruises, but the hope is that ultimately they have not harmed each other long-term, despite the powerful moves.
Just an opinion

Pro-wrestling as an exhibition / entertainment is as real as the combatants can make it appear. Back in the 1970's it was legally decided and there is case law where wrestling admitted it was fake and therefore not subject to regulations as other "real competitive sports. That's why you have no commissioner or licensing bodies for it. Legally it is not a sport as the outcome of a sporting event must not be be predetermined. Wrestling is an exhibition of athletic skills. Good wrestling is well choreographed and as real looking as possible.

No need for opinions here...it's a fact that it's NOT real. Some of the moves are real, but the wrestlers try to be careful so as to NOT injure their opponents. The matches are rehearsed, and the outcomes of the matches are scripted.

Not real.
It's not an opinion. It's a proven fact.
Granted, it's dangerous and can wear a human body down, but the results are predetermined and most moves are designed to cause as little damage as possible.

Pro wrestling may be fake, but nonetheless, it is still very entertaining.
