Two of my best friend (they hate each other) *let's just call them S and C*, are forming punk rock bands. The only instrument I know how to play is the sax. Well, S's band is smart and I'm going to be the manager, but C's band wants me the play the sax.

If you've ever been to warped tour, tons of "ska" bands have sax players in their bands. It's a very similar audience to punk rock and a very similar style... Try it out and if you don't like it, express your true feelings. And if you're lucky, you might come up with a completely new sound! Try experimenting, and good luck !!

The Clash used sax in the music sometimes. Not always, but it has definitely been done. So why not?

That's the beauty of punk! I think thats the only style of rock where you could really pull that off, w/ class and actually have it sound good!

You can do it but then you'll really be a ska band, which is actually cooler than Punk rock.

They may not be punk but heck, look at Cake. They have a trumpet player for crying out loud! Go for it!
