What would you do to make the world a better place?

I would start with myself. Smile at people, be polite and considerate. The world will only be a better place to live in when we are better people.

Ban ALL weapons that fire- any war fought will be hand to hand. If you are going to kill people in the name of freedom, religon, financial constrains, democracy, or any other reason then you will see them face to face. And the leaders must fight with the soldiers so they face the same daunting circumstances.

Mandatory birth control for all junkies that deliver a baby high and do not get into treatment.

Education reform- stricter guidelines and lower class sizes-at least in the US.

If we could find a way to make people be more open minded and less judgemental when trying to understand other races, cultures and religons then maybe my first point wouldn't be as necessary!

for the world to be a better place we need peace, and there are two kinds of peace i can think of....

PEACE 1: I'd take away weapons and the desire to harm each other, I'd make a constant supply of natural resources (including food and oil), also freeze the effects of global warming and make the earths atmosphere stay just right to support life, then we can all love each other and drive gas guzzling 4x4's to the supermarket and buy whatever kind of crap we want and go and eat it in the sun with all our arab friends...
subsequently we would die out, as we need STRUGGLE to SURVIVE as do all species that is why we are the king of the castle...

PEACE 2: I'd nuke EVERYTHING from a spaceship, and make sure everything is dead, bringing peace through death.

We as humans are already over-populating the planet, so having world peace, no diseases, no poverty, etc would mean that this beautiful planet of ours could not sustain such a massive population increase. It may sound awful, but, it's a basic truth.

I'd make everyone equal (but properly) so that it wasn't like the whole communism thing, then I'd make everyone Vegetarian so that people weren't dying of starvation. I'd also make it that War was a complete and last resort and that America wasn't the big dog (Englans is on it's own! We're not anyone's lap dog!) oh and....no-one would have Nuclear Arms =)
