Sorry, couldn't help it - thought it would be interesting to know how much of it came true. Saw an answer where a mother said her daughter would marry a certain sign, it reminded me of how my mother used to tell me I will end up marrying a foreigner (if I even marry) and well... it got me thinking.

Oh, and please don't say a "stop"-sign. I've seen - and even attributed to - them all.

Obviously, this question goes to parents who are and have been into Astrology.

Clarity; I can't tell you enough how I agree that parents shouldn't inflict anything on children (God knows I've been the victim of that myself) but that's not my point --- telling someone they belong with a certain star sign doesn't take away their freedom to do what they want, does it?

Again, for the record: "Obviously, this question goes to parents who are and have been into Astrology."

Anyone else, please refrain from answering, even for those 2 points. You can always get extra 2 points in Polls & Surveys. Go there.

Well, my parents did not tell me I would marry another Capricorn, but they knew I would marry someone like me. So we are both Caps born 3 weeks apart and we're like "peas and carrots." My daughter is a Scorpio and my son is a Sagittarius - I have always thought they'd match best with A Leo and a Taurus respectively. Of course it is all conjecture. There's no need for these people to get uptight about it.

Horoscopes and astrology are attempts to impose "easy answers" on the complex realities of life.

Compatibility is based on factors such as disposition, values, humor, etc. People who believe in "astrological signs" are attempting to find shortcut answers to the difficult questions of life --- basically trying to avoid the hard work and difficult decisions that are required to find a "good match."
Instead of contemplating people's "signs," judge them individually on their personality and their values. It's not as fun -- it's hard work -- but it's the only path to the truth.

Remember: People who feel powerless over their own lives are far more likely to believe that some invisible force controls their fate than people who believe that they are the masters of their lives.

Good luck!

Why would anyone even bother with this? You have freedom of choice! Astrology is fun and interesting, but not something you should "inflict" on children.
