good on you, there should be more of you. i try to dodge the ants on the footpath. one day i trod on a snail and for the rest of the day that crushing sound was all i heard... it really upset me. I know, many would think i was sad, but im an animal lover....snail, ant, bird, dog...its all the same to me..i used to work with a total f-wit, who thought it was funny to catch insects, spiders and set them on fire and drown them in lubricant.... if he is on the street, i would run him down in seconds....piece of shiit....his name is bEVAN! hes a spoilt little rich kid that secretly has no confidence, but he acts "mr cool' coz daddy is manager of major australian resource. like bhp.............he is a gutless coward....

Yeah, I feel bad sometimes... The way I see it, they have lives just like the rest of us.. Why is it ok to kill bugs, but when it's an animal it becomes bad.... But then I think about how massive their population is, and I figure... It's population control... We can't have an Earth over run with insects... I never kill spiders though... They help us kill other insects

People laugh at me but I collect them and put them back outside. Spiders and ladybugs or bees, moths, etc. However, I draw the line at mosquitoes, flies and those hundred leg thingies that come up the pipes and sit in your sink giving you a start when you go in the bathroom in the morning and look in the sink. Down they go fast. I will get rid of ants in the house but I try to avoid stepping on them outside. That is their natural environment after all.
People don't like spiders, and I cannot say I'm especially fond of them but they do serve a purpose. Anyone who just kills them is ignorant to their purpose in life and should do a little research into how many detrimental bugs a spider eats.

Depends on what kind of insect. I'm not letting a mosquito live but I will let a lightning bug live.

Depends on the insect.
I feel no guilt in squashing as many mosquitos as possible, but I totally avoid hurting ants, spiders, beetles, bees, and other harmless bugs.

Fireflies and ladybugs I won't kill. The others are trespassers and ask for it. Especially wasps. I HATE wasps. And ants in the kitchen.
