I personally try to eat three times a day.
A human can survive about a week without food. I wouldn't recommend it, even if you think it will help you lose weight, because your body goes into starvation mode and lowers your metabolism. You will eventually have to eat something if you don't want to die, and that will be metabolized very very slowly and make you fat. Even if it's just a piece of fruit.

The body itself can go without food for 2 weeks as long as you have fluids. Me on the other hand can go a couple of days if need be.

Do you mean me personally, or human beings as a whole?
If you mean me, then probably about 6 hours or so.
Human beings though can live on water for up to 3 weeks, so you can live without food, as long as you have water, for up to 3 weeks.

There's the rule of threes:
3 minutes without air
3 days without water and
3 weeks without food.
So technically, 3 weeks.

Technically, ten days. Realistically, about six hours. After that I'd still be alive, just in a hypoglycemic coma. Hope nothing eats me!

If shipwrecked and adrift, people have survived 21 days or longer. Alone, in my well-equipped kitchen, about two days on a liquid fast.
