Will playing tennis on the Wii improve your real tennis skills?

Wow this must be a real funny thing to ask. Well i must say it depends how bad u are at tennis in the first place but for the most part yes because it sortove teaches u the basics of the sport so i say YES.

I was already decent at tennis, so probably not....

My boyfriend's "short game" in golf has gotten noticeably better ever since he's started playing Wii Golf. His scores in real-life golf have gone down by about ten strokes for an 18 hole game. His putting and chipping is a LOT better.

IMO, it doesnt.

Wii only requires you to swing and hit the ball.

It doesnt emphasise the importance of the footwork, racquet grip and racquet swing which i think is the most important in a real game of tennis.

But! If you are already familiar with tennis, you can practice you swings eg topspin swing, underhand swing, volley, half-volley. Yet even though you know these different swings, it wont show in the game! haha.
