The way I see it, most people are righthanded and therefore will do more things with their right hand. You don't want your watch getting in the way whilst you're chopping carrots or administering an enema to a horse, therefore the watch is worn on the other (left) hand.
Logically, I would therefore expect lefthanded people to wear their watches on their right hands.

They're not worn on the left hand. You just wear them wherever you want to wear them, but usually right-handed people wear it on the left because they use the right hand more, and the watch can get in the way. And left-handed people wear it on the right hand.

I would assume that they are worn on the left hand for those who are right handed. I am a lefty and I wear my watch on the right hand!

I am right handed and I wore a watch on my right hand for about a year. It became very annoying hearing the metal clack against the desk I would be writing on and against other things I use my right hand for such as a computer mouse. I started wearing a watch on my left hand because it is less distracting when I am writing.

Most people punch with their right hands, so you put the watch on the left in case you get into a fight---you don't want to break your watch

maximum individuals positioned on watches on their left hand through fact they are real surpassed. They do extra stuff with their real hand, so donning an eye fixed fastened on your left hand capacity that your much less apt to scratch the face or smash the watch entirely. i'm left surpassed, and that i've got continually worn an eye fixed fastened on my real arm.

have you noticed that left handed people wear their watch on their right hand? It depends on which hand you write with.
The watch gets in the way.
Maybe we should go back to pocket watches?
