Depends on the car---year, make and model? Some cars have a cancelling cam in the steering column by the turn signal switch and it trips little cancelling springs in the switch to turn off the blinker---the springs usually break over time and they are like 50 cents apiece but you have to disassemble the column to replace them. Other cars, the turn signal switch is sold as a unit...have to disassemble the column also.

There is a cancellation disc inside of the st erring column. The steering wheel (and air bag if equipped) and replace that disc.
The previous answer is correct too. It can cost over $100.

More than what it costs to put up with having to turn it off manually :-)
