Males are hard-wired to focus on a single subject, like the hunter. Female are hard-wired to multi-task, like watching several children while fixing food. Boys often have difficulty thinking things through before they say it out loud, or in print. They also are often too close to the problem to see the answer. It's like the answer is standing right beside them and they need to back off and take another look, but they don't because they know they're close and don't want to loose their target. So they ask questions hoping another hunter can see what they're looking for before they lose focus.
