I've answered a few physics and chemistry calculation questions and have discovered that people who answered earlier than me wait a few days , then edit their answers to resemble mine (which is more complete and accurate than theirs). Since their answers are still considered "earlier" it looks to outsiders that they had the better answer first!

Here's an idea: Yahoo should change things so that whenever you edit your question, it goes to end of the line.

That is... so lame. I don't know why people would care to do that. Maybe they don't get enough recognition in their real lives they have to have the best answers online. Hah! Anyway, that's a bummer for you for putting in the effort. Yahoo really should do something about that, like, maybe only one edit per answer or .. I don't know. Maybe none? Maybe like when you post a question, you can't edit it, you can only add additional details. That way they can see they didn't have that answer first. Anyway, if you ever answer a question for me, I'll be sure to know you answered it first! (: (Most likely not, thought, since I don't post in Science & Mathematice hehe)
Look at your additional details. That's how it should be when you go to edit your answer. You should bring it up to Yahoo. (: Maybe they'll consider it!

First off i will say i think it is very immature for people to say "Its all about you you you" and that you are selfish. I understand your frustration, but i do believe that yahoo trys to keep things fair. Obviously there is a glitch in the system. If you feel so strongly about this then email or write yahoo and tell them how you feel. Sometimes we just have to deal with unfair things...no one ever said that life was fair.

That is life. People are always going to be copying others. Does it suck? Yes. Should they stop? Yes. Will they stop? Probably not. The best thing you can do is give your best answer and then move on. Don't let things you can't change eat you up inside.

Well, that is the system and Yahoo is to be blamed. In any case, you should feel complimented that some one edited their answers after seeing yours. Imitation is the best form of flattery they say.
