Question is simple : you are using 2 desktops or is 1 of them a laptop? Does your router have WIRELESS capability? If you have then you aready to go. If not, then you can only connect the 2 computers to the internet using LAN cable. (By the way LAN stands for LOCAL AREA NETWORK) NOT USB. Most computers have built-in LAN card. Check on your computers and you will find the connections there.

If they're both PC (desktop) computers, you just need an additional Ethernet cable to plug in the second computer.
However, if it is a laptop, in most cases you'll need to buy an Ethernet adapter card that plugs into it

If you have a laptop as one of your computers, it is nice to have a wireless card. But you can use cables if you want. But if the second computer is a laptop it may already have the card in it. Check before you buy one.
