I don't want to buy an expensive photo package and I'd rather not sign up for free trials. I tried changing the colour settings on my monitor and on the display section of the pc but no luck. Is this do-able?
ps - for our US friends, colour=color....!

duh....it's easy dude, try the microsoft program already installed in your laptop. why dont you use microsoft word to edit the picture? open th word office. choose insert, picture, from file. and choose your picture. once you can see your picture, resize it, and right click on the picture, and choose "show picture tool bar" in the tool bar, choose "color" and choose "grayscale".

good luck. hey if you want a free picture editor, i can give you. it's free. im like you, i dont want to pay for anything. email me at fedrianaldrinadi@yahoo.com

If you have MS Office, install the optional Microsoft Photo Editor software. It's a simple utility great for viewing photos under different options, including B&W, Sepia, lighter/darker, color saturations, etc. If you like the results, you can save and print from this utility also.

Download The GIMP, it's open source and free.

Make sure to install the GTK+ runtime environment for your version of Windows first.

Then go to GIMP Guru to find out how to do lots of different stuff with photos.
