If you've run a Virus scan, I would also run a SpyWare scan as well. Some of the free stuff like Ad-aware & Spybot Search & Destroy would do fine if you don't want to pay for Mcafee or Norton.
If that turns up nothing you can try Microsoft's Malicious Software Removal Tool here:
http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspx
If you've gotten past all this with no avail I would try uninstalling the applications and reinstalling after a chkdsk and a defrag to make sure your hard drive isn't damaged or about to bite the dust.

Back up your important programs and put them on discs. Then format your laptop back to it's original settings (like the day you bought it) and re-do the updates at microsoft update and then carefully choose what programs you put back in to the laptop. It sounds like your hard drive is a little too full for the computer to run smoothly......the other option.....get a larger hard drive or a new laptop.

If your PC used to be faster, or is acting strangely, it's probably infected with malware.
Back up (copy to CD / DVD / external hard drive) all personal data and use your Recovery CDs to return your PC to Factory settings.
