My laptop turns on pretty fast, but when i try to open any program like MS word or Internet Explorer, I have to wait 30 minutes for it to start. Once the programs start, my laptop runs normally.
I have already fixed my start-up programs, performed a virus scan and cleaned my registry. What else should I do? I cant always wait for 30 minutes everytime I need to use my laptop! Help!

If you've run a Virus scan, I would also run a SpyWare scan as well. Some of the free stuff like Ad-aware & Spybot Search & Destroy would do fine if you don't want to pay for Mcafee or Norton.

If you've gotten past all this with no avail I would try uninstalling the applications and reinstalling after a chkdsk and a defrag to make sure your hard drive isn't damaged or about to bite the dust.

Back up your important programs and put them on discs. Then format your laptop back to it's original settings (like the day you bought it) and re-do the updates at microsoft update and then carefully choose what programs you put back in to the laptop. It sounds like your hard drive is a little too full for the computer to run smoothly......the other option.....get a larger hard drive or a new laptop.
