Yes, there is a trick to everything. Open hood, remove the L-shaped pins on the actual headlights and pull the whole lamp out and leave it hanging or to the side. Then just reach in and press the locking clip on the socket and twist out the socket and replace the light bulbs. Good luck.

You can't without doing some on-board programming or removing some components. These are sensor monitored from the top of the dash to the BCM of the truck as are all the lights. When the truck's sensor detect a light factor that is greater than a predetermined point and there is no headlights on request the BCM enables a relay to turn the DRL on. The simplest way to disable this safety feature would be to remove the bulbs, however this might set off the internal diagnostics of the BCM. Or you could remove the relay from its place in the under hood fuse panel, but I think that this particular relay has several functions. The dealer's scanner has the capability of programming the BCM to disable that feature, but I can't understand why you would want to do this. You can't even see the lights when they are on, but that's my opinion. Good luck.

Look behind the radiator support for some wires running into the back of the light fixture. Unplug/unscrew it and replace your bulb. You may have to remove the fixture itself but the only way you will get to the problem is from BEHIND the light...not from the front.
