The only negative about the entire movie was that the wife simply didn't add up. If she was as portrayed, she'd have attempted to reconcile after he got on his feet, which was very shortly after she left, and at least would have stayed in the child's life.
I think the author was being kind to her by not telling that full story, which does fit with the way he was portrayed on screen.
Everything else about it was a Ten. Great story, great messages, well cast, well acted, well directed.
It's the only movie of the last five years worth seeing twice.

I have to say, when it first came out it looked depressing, and kind of like the fluff that Hollywood puts out once a week. That said, it was a heckuva good movie. Will Smith does a great job, like you'd expect he would. The movie wrenches your heart left and right, and you're given a great feeling in the end, which I would liken to the Shawshank Redemption. I'm not saying it's that great, but it's completely entertaining and enjoyable. I'd wholeheartedly recommend it.

Pros - true story, great acting
Con - so much publicity about it that I saw the main parts of the movie before I actually watched the movie - so it wasn't as moving (no tears) since I had seen the clips before

Pursuing happiness has its own pros and cons, but in terms of the time when YOU persue it
If you persue it now, you will be able to work, live, act, and perform happily hereafter;
if however you decide to persue after you have worked, acted, and performed, then you will live only with, and only for gaining and earning sensual pleasures of the minds and desires of self.
The persuit of happiness is easier said than done;We need to work hard to destress ourselves first, and thereafter to learn and practise to work hard with and for the fullfillment of desires of welfare of all whom we know as either weak, suffering, sorrowfull, painfull, ill, sick, deseased, hurt, tensed, stressed etc.
