I have owned Macs since the day they came out. I purchased my current MaBook Pro 17" in December. I wouldn't own anything else.

Eh brother...APPLE ROX man...I am using an Apple I-book since nearly 3 years now and it has NEVER failed me even once also. My office guys have been using windows based laptops - DON'T ask the brand, and the amount of problems they have had makes me laugh. Plus the bootup and shutdown of Apple is much better than any windows based laptops. OH!! THE ONLY DOWNSIDE, many softwares are not compatible with Apple OS. But u can get a lot of 2ndhand softwares available from the market. So before you buy any laptop, you have to weigh the pros and cons and see what you need it for. But believe me u WILL NEVER REGRET getting an Apple at all.

Not really, people buy macs as they are fashionable, to be different, its just a brand name. The OS is shiny and that's about it, it has poor compatiblity but most apple users live with it. Apple's once where the only computers for graphic design but now the software is available for pcs it's really just personal choice.
The average Joe Bloggs uses windows, the programmer uses Unix/BSD/Solaris, the tech savvy use Linux/FreeBSD and the brand conscience use macs.

Alienware. NO WAY!!
The macbook is a great computer. Its not expensive for no reason. Its expensive because it has so much memory, and great processors and stuff. It is actually fairly cheap compared to other windows PCs wih the same specifications. If you get the Macbook Pro, the keyboard lights up!! Mac OS X is great also. If you use Windows now, switching to OS X would be a great move because wants you go mac, youll never go back! Please vote for best answer. Thanks

If you are no good with computers then go for it,

if you like to fiddle and try out the next big thing or if you like to game then avoid it like the plague

also the price tag is not always a good indicator that just means that it has more stuff not better stuff and apple charges a whole lot more for their stuff then compared to similar hardware

Do yourself a favour and go to an Apple Store and try one out.

Then, decide for yourself.

Alienware is famous for making great gaming PCs. If you are a Gamer, the Mac won't be the best choice.

wow, dude, 4 gb ram? i wonder how fast your laptop can get. it's really really high. 250 gb hd? you could store a quite a bunch of porn. if you're really not a microsoft or windows-based software, i would say that apple is the right choice. it's faster and safer. you dont have to be worried of getting virus or anything, much less threat.
