I lived in Spain, in the mountains, far from the maddening (sorry!!!) Brits. I also lived in a metropolis there. I think they were very much like anywhere else, in that in the cities, people were more mind-their-own-business, cosmopolitan and worldly, fashionable, but perhaps friendlier than many other world cities. I personally did NOT enjoy everything about living in the village though. Things were still a little backwards, misogyny abounded, everyone not only knew everyone's business, but seemed to to disapprove of every one else's business. Hmmm, sounds like villages/small towns across the globe....

if you go to the island (i forgot which one). the islands are great with the most amazing food. But the greatest part for me was the clubs never in my life have i had so much fun, it seem like the party never ends. The beaches are beautiful but make sure you check the water before swimming for me i just hung out on the shore. The people are nice in large tourist areas but others are hard to understand and in most cases upset because everyone is in the city and they have little business. so in joy your trip, i did!

Very racist people. They have given Etoo and other black players in the Spanish football league alot of hell as far as racism is concerned.I would not wish to travel there as a black.Remember the abduction of child Madelaine! Not a safe place to be sincere.
