Well yeah!
The Tula Indian says that if we can truely stop thinking, the physical world will fall away and you would see things as they really are.

You can't stop your brain activity, because it's regulating your heartbeat etc 24/7. Some believe however that you can stop your concious brain activity, as in meditation, or the state of 'flow'. Flow is where you're engrossed in an activity that's just challenging enough to stretch your talents, and you are 'thinking', but its focused on the activity and not in words.

It is possible, but it's something that takes immense concentration and practice. It is something that is popular in most Asian philosophies...some people are able to clear their mind so well that they can actually begin controlling those functions that are automatic to us...they can control the beating of their heart, the temperature of their bodies, etc. Most people have a difficult time clearing their mind, but that's also because we don't practice it that much.

I don't think it's possible. I have been able to stare at something without much thought, but it only lasts a very short second or two before thoughts start enering my mind.

I have definately done it. It is a great experience.... only attainted when you have true control over the body and mind. Meditation helps. It may sound boring. But it is possible.

No, a healthy human brain never stops. It is impossible to not think. Don't buy into meditation or anything else the brain is always active even when you sleep (dreams). You can't think about not thinking or you are thinking. You cannot shut off the brain.

I tried it a long time ago, like those who study zen meditation do (or claim to anyway). I couldn't do it. No matter how hard I tried, I was always thinking about something.

Hope not, if your brain stops thinking your heart will stop!
But, I know what you mean, I suspect it is possible with a lot of meditation and practise

yes but it's blooming hard!!
when people truely meditate they are not thinking, not sure what is going on but it's different,
but it takes a lot of practise!! for the first few (hundred!!! LOL) times you will still catch yourself thinking about all sorts!!
have a star for a fab question!! it's refreshing to have one!!

confident and as quickly because it fairly is rebuilt it will be better than it replaced into in the previous. The reminiscence of having with the aid of undesirable cases would be a piece of your shared heritage and convey you nearer in the tip.
