I've been researching universities lately and find it hard to come up with anything that isn't ivy league or garbage. I'm pretty close to the standards that top schools look for but what if I don't get in? Can someone tell me about some highly regarded universities in the U.S. that I may not have heard about?

By the way, I hope to study business.....

If your definition of "garbage" is everything which is not an Ivy, then good luck! However, there are hundreds of decent schools out there, some of them probably better than many of the ivies for business at the undergraduate level. In fact, Business Week now ranks undergraduate business programs, and only two of the top ten this year (Wharton at #1 and Cornell at #10) are Ivies. The others, in order, are the University of Virginia, UC Berkeley, Emory, the University of Michigan, MIT, Notre Dame, Brigham Young and NYU. Check out Business Week's website (www.businessweek.com) for the rankings. Another site you might want to look at for ideas is the AACSB International (Association to Advance Colleges and Schools of Business) site. AACSB is the premier accrediting organization for business schools. They don't rank schools, but they list those schools which they have accredited. Obviously, not every school that is accredited is outstanding, but it does ensure some kind of standards and approval of other schools, so it is a starting place for knowing if a school is deemed acceptable. You can check them out at www.aacsb.edu.

I don't know about the US, but you could always apply at TRU they have an awesome business degree. I don't go there, but when I was researching schools I remeber that one standing out in my mind.
