With a BB contestant being evicted for using the "N" word, does this not defeat the purpose and originality of the show ie a reflection of human behaviour put under the microscope? If a person breaks the law I think they should be handed over to the police, but to evict because you use a word, and not necessesarily in a way which you deem to be offencive, then surely we are seeing a reflection of society, to then evict that person is surely gagging a part of society, who either rightly or wrongly behave in this manner?
I'm Irish by origin, so should I now call the police when someone calls me Paddy or Pat or just call the police when I hear an Irish joke. Where does it stop?! Must I refrain from tellING Irish jokes also, incase I offend my fellow countrymen? As a nation can we no longer laugh at ourselves? The world has gone PC mad, your thoughts please?
Did you hear the one about the Irish...........CENSORED UNSUITABLE FOR HUMAN LAUGHTER.................

Got to disagree with you. A reality show should show people, not show people acting in a manner in which they would not normally act. As for it being a privilage and an honour, I reserve that kind of statement for soldiers fighting for their country, not for wanabees on a TV show!

To make a statement like that on national television is a bit silly. They had to make an example of her as otherwise, the country would go mad. Channel 4 does not support racism and so cannot put up with people being racist. We all take our examples from the television. They create idols, and noone looks up to a racist. They were simple rules and ten thousand people in this country would have easily have stuck to them.

I'm not saying I never use offensive words, but I think I could have stuck to that rule to be in the bb house. It's a privilage and a honour and a once in a lifetime experience. She's let herself down and channel 4 have made us all proud xxx

Do you have a link to the article?

When it all blew up over Shilpa Shelty on Celeb BB at the start of the year it was a bit mad.

I am Scottish and would not take offence at being called Heather Haggis as she was called Shilpa Popadom and I don't for one minute expect my fellow countrymen would take offence either.

The N word is derogotry but it stems from Nigera and Niger, African countries and it seems perfectly acceptable for black people to call each other N****s which I don't understand. I suppose it depends in the context it is used.

But yes, it does go against the whole reason for shows like BB and it is political correctness gone mad. Next they'll be taking the Goliwog of my jar of marmalade.... oh wait a minute, they already did!

I do agree with you to a certain extent, however. After the alleged racism rows after celebrity Big Brother this year and the subsequent outrage by the general public due to the programme's executive lack of action to prevent this, I imagine the programme chiefs don't want a repeat this time.

Many people boycotted the programme last time due to their lack of action, and never bothered voting. This means Big Brother doesn't earn as much money for Channel 4 anymore.

I remember reading that Big Brother is responsible for about 10% of the station's earnings every year, so to keep everyone sweet that had to throw Emily out to show the public their zero tolerance to racist behavior.

It is PC gone mad but I believe they have made the roght decision.

minorities cannot achieve anything these days without the race card. It makes me laugh when muslims claim racism yet muslims are not a race!

Positive discrimination is a joke too!

Even though they have a headstart over the white majority they still do not really achieve much! useless bunch!
