We had lots of decomposed leaves in our pool this year when we opened it.. the water is crystal clear now but the leaves left a brownish stain on the liner. I've used algaecides, shock, chlorine tablets and I've been back flushing the pump continuously. I even used algaeguard gold which is 60% stronger. Any suggestions?

My mom used to send us in the pool with a soft brush to scrub the stains. (we could go under water, she couldn't, lol)They usually came up shorty after chlorine was added if we scrubbed. Then we got out and ran the filter for a bit. :)

Any pool cleaners will clean this, you simply can not just add chlorine tablets and think that; that will clean the pool this is only to kill the bacteria in the pool not clean the pool or keep stains away, shock treatments won't clean a pool either and another that won't clean is algaecides Good Luck !

barkeepers friend is a mild abrasive which is great to remove oxidation (rust), simply sprinkle it on and with a wet cloth rub until the stain is gone then rinse.

put in about 2-4 inches of water then get in and use your feet to slowly slide them to sides of pool

I would first try barkeeps friend and if that didn't work I'd use oxi clean.
