Words can be as hurtful as a physical blow sometimes. Yes, I have tried to hurt someone with words and it worked. I felt really bad about losing my temper and I apologized, now all is well between us. It did make me feel guilty for a long time, because you can't take those words back. We should all be a little more careful to hold out tongues when we're angry.

Yes I have. I once said some pretty awful and true things about someone I should have never said anything at all I was pretty hurt then, I also called that same someone that I truly hold so very dear to my heart ugly because he was acting that way. He's not of course, actually to me he is the most beautiful person that I have ever met in my entire life Can't undo the past. Can only learn from it and { the power of prayer and Gods grace} I prayed about it and thank God I got an e-mail from him recently ;0) purely suggestional, never give up on the things we should live by every day, hope and faith.

Yes, with choicest of sugar coated good looking words.
Procedure is very simple. Stay calm, think properly, choose your word ( Words are like bullets, once fired can not be taken back), keep smiling (if possible) or do not display your annoyance/ displeasure, and then like a astute word smith, tell your tale.
See the effect, you will never feel bad as you have not violated any of the rules on this earth.

eh, I do that very often and I almost never apologize, but if you made her cry then I think the less you could do was apologize, don't worry so much, if what you said for her has point, just wait when time wash away all this situation and you can talk with her calmly again..

There is an old saying that holds true today, as when it was first written. A word spoken in anger, is always repented in leisure. Have a good day.

I once tried (and succeeded), using words alone, to make someone feel so bad they threw up. It was necessary to save them from alcohol poisoning.
Not really what you were talking about, I know, but it's what popped into my head when I read your question.

You can never take back words that hurt. They may just slip out but you cant stuff them back in. My husband is good at that and I hate that.

Havent we all. Sometimes my mouth is faster than my brain. I have yet to be able to suck the words back in.
All you can do is grovel and eat lots of humble pie.

we all do that sometimes... this is why the word "apology" exists...
so, it's great that you apologized... but next time you need to be more careful and patient...
for now, though, stop feeling bad... u don't deserve this... you did it, you apologized, you learned the lesson! Next lesson please...!!!
