I would definately say GUITAR without a second thought - after all music is an international language - and hey you could even go real far with your talent (if you find it) - hey do it and keep it up - good luck and on ya - wish Id have thought of this ages and ages ago - now it is just a dream cause I get too busy to practice - GO for IT!!!!!
ps I HAD A BOYFRIEND WHO TOOK UP LESSONS AND ONLY 4 YRS LATER COULD PLAY ABSOLUTLEY ANYTHING - that is an awesome feet... do you realise how sexy a guy is who can play guitar - you will not regret it!

if it's just over the summer, language will fade because, well you can, but it's harder to learn a language over the schoolyearr without a tutor and you'll forget, unless you're going to a specific place with a different language that you'll be learning then I say go for the language but if you're not visiting a country with that specific language this year than that would be a no
but guitar, if you really like it, you can keep it up and practise in your spare time
OR instead of taking a lesson each week for guitar, you could take a lesson every two weeks for guitar and a lesson every two weeks for language

Well a language would be more useful in the future, but the guitar is cooler ;-) Plus - the music from a guitar is a universal language that everyone understands!
And I just happen to play the guitar myself :-D
Because I've been at Uni for 4 years I had to leave my electric guitar at my mom's house to be stored.... but now I'm moving in with my boyfriend, so I'm going to bring down the roof with my limited edition blue body, blue head, pearl dots on the fret boards, Fender electric! Teeehhee....

Learn the guitar with lessons over the summer. You can get started, and with practice (practice, practice) have something you can use the rest of your life.
Go to your local library and check out some language tapes (the self taught sort). It'll get you started and cost nothing.

Learning a language is really fun and can be very relaxing too.
I would suggest it - as for music the piano is my thing - also very fun.
At the end of the day it is you r decuision and you wil need to make a decision based on what you like ... :)
