Sounds like a scam.
They use names of proper companies to help the deception. Check the email address you have got. It is hotmail/gmail/yahoo mail or some other free email address or if the phone number is for a mobile (starts 07 or 447). It is a scam.
Why would a UK bank use an India yahoo mail account.

Not as far as I'm aware

The FSA is responsible for regulating banks etc - see http://www.fsa.gov.uk/ for lists of banks that are authorised to operate in the UK

Doesn't sound right - never heard of it. Have you had a scam letter or e-mail claiming about this?
