This question is a think-aloud question. I have no intention of getting a tatt and because I'm Asian, I love henna paintings. I always bring my kit along whenever my friends and I are relaxing at someone's home.
Henna painting is not for wimps. It's a culture thing.

I love Tattoos in general BUT the henna done on your hands and feet like the traditional kind I think is Beautiful!!! and yes eventually in washes off so, if you decide you don't like it...no harm no foul right!

Every time I've gotten henna it only needed to stay on for about an hour, maybe a little more. It's really weird that there's no color. Keep in mind though that the first day it will be a really light orange and will darken over time, so maybe it's there but just doesn't contrast with your skin tone.

Henna painting like on canvas or do you mean henna body art like drawing on the skin? Because you can use henna on wood to decorate them and also on canvas.
But as for body art, I think henna is the best choice because if you get bored you can always change them up. A real tat is for life and well you are stuck with it.

henna paintings are beautiful. i have 15 tattoos that i got when i was much younger and i wish i could make 2 of them disappear.
