I have read in todays news that the McCanns are launching wristbands to raise awareness and (more to the point) money to fund their search. Surely it is time to say that enough is enough. To give all this money for the search of one child in a world littered with abject poverty, abuse and millions of missing people is surely wrong. Have the McCanns even been to Morrocco where she was apparently sighted. Instead they are visiting The Pope. They are spending this money on a European holiday. They are not actually looking for their daughter. The chances of finding Maddie are extremely slim no matter what the finances are. This amount of charity could do real good elsewhere. Surely if you had all that cash the first thing you would do would be to advertise the world over that you will give it all to anyone who hands the child over. These people have acted oddly from the word go, and fair play to the German reporter who raised this to them.

no definately not, I give money to the NSPCC who try to help milllions of children suffering from neglect and abuse, I would never ever support two people who delibrately left 3 kids alone in a foregin country.

NO I won't be buying a wristband - I agree with you - there are millions of other needy people in the world - and this has definately been going on for long enough - The German Reporter was right to ask his question and the response given that they think its a minority of people who think that way is wrong! I am not for one second saying that the McCanns had anything to do with the disappearance of their daughter but I do accuse them of negligence - they should NEVER have left their children unattended - I would NEVER EVER leave mine, its disgusting and there were services available too. This story would be so much different were the parents from a council area - people would be raising money for a witch hunt on the parents - there would be no support - only their dirty past would be dragged up.
And as for visiting the pope - what in the world good is that going to do - I am certain its just a trip of a lifetime for them!!

Buying a wristband would solve exactly what???

Awareness has been raised more than enough I think. Just let the police do their job. I understand that when you loose a child you want to do all that's possible - but I would leave it to the professionals. I'm sure there's a lot going on in the background of this investigation that no one knows about yet.

The parents should rather focus their attention to their remaining 2 children and give them the support they need - they lost a sister too !

I hope that Madeleine will be found safe and healthy and not too traumatised.

no i wont buy one. i agree with some others here that the parents are not acting 'quite right'.

if i had just lost a child i WOULD NOT leave my others to fly and visit a pope who ignores the paedophile actions of many of his priests .. where is the child protection there? its hypocritical. i would never want my kids to leave my side again; i would not want to be in front of the cameras, i would be hiding in a dark room and letting the police and professionals and family do the pleas for the media; i would not be sporting new hair styles either, i would be pulling my hair out after 35 days.

those who have not realised the wierdness of the situation or are aware of the facts that there seems to be a lot of missing pieces to the puzzle must be blinded by the same hysteria that flooded britain when diana died.

i hope there has been no involvement, but something is not right about it all. why on one video of the holiday is maddy playing, then looks to side and looks full of fear? why did the mother run into the restaurant and shout 'they've taken her' not 'shes gone' or something? who's 'they'?
i applaud the germans for being brave enough to vocalise what MANY people are thinking. and yes, if this was a family from a council estate with tattoos and a beer belly, they would have been hounded by the media, their private lives ripped apart, tormented and slagged off. another hypocrisy.
another example of how its one rule for 'middle class' and another for everyone else. even the times paper tried to justify their decision rather than investigate it... disgraceful.

i dunno. i'd hate to be them. i hope they are innocent.
but poor maddy and the twins, having such negligent and stupid parents.

they will be doing themselves and maddy a favour by just being at home. they can fly off to places if they get a call to. the twins must be traumatised, but as all the focus is on parents, we wouldnt know; they need to be at home in a routine, to be allowed to grieve, and try to carry on with lives whilst they wait for news.

30 plus days now. if maddy is still alive, they have signed away any option of her being brought out in public by the amount of photos and publicity. when children have gone missing there is usually one photo published, and i think that is not a coincidence. children have been found alive after a long time, but sometimes its taken years before anyone realsies their neighbour has a child stashed in garage/cellar etc. one case in usa took 7 years.

every day i send blessings to maddy and to her parents and siblings.

something about it all sits wrongly, but i hope maddy returns soon, and if so, that she is not too badly affected long-term.

I would not buy a wristband unless the money raised was used to encourage people to come forward with information. The McCanns can do no more where they are and should come home so there other children can carry on a normal life and be with their friends.

Please stop using the tragic McCanns as a therapy to counteract your failure. It is not the Mccanns fault that they are smart successful medical top academics who have to deal with a tragedy .

This is part of a continued vicious hate campaign against the McCanns, it is no real question

This question is designed to attract the career and academic losers who take out their failure on the tragic McCanns

No I do not wear wristbands, better to send some cash to the rescue fund

No! NO! No!
They have enough for life now.
Who is Madeline anyway? I thought this was about Gerry and Kate McCann,,,
Oh hold on that was the child that went missing wasn't it?
What with the pope and legal advisors and a web page blog and ribbons and wristbands and sweatshirts and was it lobster they had for dinner? I almost forgot about Madeline, shame on me I am getting as bad as her parents.
Must sign that petition.

No I won't buy a wristband because I don't think it will help. They are in complete denial about the futility of the siutation and all this 'help' is just fuelling that. Its tragic.

They need to spend time with the twins they have and get back in touch with their family/regular life. They are not achieving anything by what they are currently doing and it is not helping them to recover and is drawing increasing critisism of them.

I would if I thought it was funding a 'search'.

Thier website explicity states that the money is going to more fundraising and a legal tieam.

If I had a missing daughter, all the money raised would be going to private detectives to help with the search, not paying for trips to countries and meeting the pope.

This is just beyond ridiculous. What kind of muppet is going to buy these? I mean, if you do want to help then pop onto the website and give some money directly! Why do you need some 'official merchandise'?! What good will it do? I really worry about this country sometimes, I thought the grotesque Diana hysteria was bad enough, but this...

NO! Despite my rants, I am worried for Maddie but I refuse to put any money into her selfish parent's pockets! There is enough "awareness" to her plight, but it seems neither the police or parents are willing to do anything constructive, like physically go and look for her!!!
