Adolescence is one psychotic stage on its own and a difficult one too.

It is not common for adolescence to have fully developed serious disorders in early adolescence but many disorders starts developing at that time. There are some cases though of fully developed problematic adolscence, most commonly behavioural problems, adhd etc.

Hormones, social struggles, opposite sex etc. are common difficulties for most teenagers and can leave scars, bruised self-esteem and other effects that do not fall into disorders. Of disorders, most common is depression or anxiety.

Homo sexuality is probable one of the hardest non-disordered that adolescence can deal with and can lead to horrifying results as suicide. They not only have to deal with what an average teenager deals with, but ithe isolation and religious taboos on top of that, as well as accepting themselves being different.

The infamous "Should I do it like they do even if I know it's wrong?" thoughts. Yeah, you heard me; conforming with stupid, not good, peer pressures. Superiority complex. Incapacity to restrain actions (verbally and physically). Not to forget, inability to deduce and fully comprehend issues that can range by variety in which here comes the point about stereotyping....

This is quite off topic, but to me, although I may be 17, I always believed that the adolescent stage is the most stupidest, aggravating, immature period for people to ever go through. And it's only second to older people making dumb decisions for my opinion. Adolescents always wanna do things that were exclusively meant for more mature or older aged people such as sex, smoking, drinking alcoholics. They even have the nerve to "try" acting and dressing as if they're older than their age. They should stick to doing things suitable for their ages. <~ These remarks do not apply on ALL adolescents; that'd make me too judgemental. I'm just stating the negative types that I disapprove of.

Anxiety disorders quite often rear their ugly head during adolescence, paving the way for more problems (ie., eating disorders, substance-use disorders, depression, self-harm, etc...).

More than you'd ever believe...

I've also got friends who have eatting disorders, been sexually abused etc.

Adults (generally) don't understand how difficult it can be. Life isn't easy for any age group.
