Hey,
Here are some ideas...
The J ones might sound goofy just because of the two J's.
Aaron Jonathon
Adam Jonathon
Ashton Jonathon
Aiden Jonathon
Jackson Jonathon
James Jonathon
Jarrod Jonathon
Jeromy Jonathon
Jasper Jonathon
Jayden Jonathon
Jamerson Jonathon
Justin Jonathon
Have you thought of maybe MJ or other options?
Maybe:
Maddox Jonathon
Mackenzie Jonathon
Mason Jonathon
Matthew Jonathon
Or maybe RJ
Robert Jonathon
Russell Jonathon
Rupert Jonathon
Or you could maybe try DJ
Dustin Jonathon
Damien Jonathon
Dwayne Jonathon
Or you could also maybe have PJ
Patrick Jonathon
Maybe even KJ
Karson Jonathon
Kameron Jonathon
Kaden Jonathon
Kye Jonathon
Kendall Jonathon
Good Luck on your search
Hope some of these might help you!

How about Nathan Jonathon Watson though that rolls off the tongue nicely.I think that as Jonathon and Watson have both got 'on' at the end of each name then if the first name had the same ending/similar ending it sounds really nice.Oliver is a nice name but not as nice as some others that may go better with Jonathon and the name isnt uncommon.
good luck

A Names that I think are lovely;
Adam
Albert
Andrew
Angus
Anthony
Archibald (you could shorten it to Archie which is cute)
Arthur
J Names that I think are lovely;
Jack
Jakob/Jacob
James (I'm biased cos it's my godson's name)
Jared
Joe
Joseph
Jonah
Josh/Joshua
They could consider using a name beginning with P so it could be 'PJ' (although personally I don't like the nicknames AJ, JJ or PJ)?
There's lovely P Names;
Patrick
Paul
Peter
Philip/Phillip
Phineas (he could call himself Phin when he gets older)
And don't pick an name beginning with O, he'd be mocked mercilessly!!
