I'm not really sure but I know many species of spiders seek out dark and possibly damp areas. Maybe a closet or under a bed? Do you have a laundry room?

If the tarantula is kept in your room and you keep the door closed, most likely it is still in your room. Tarantulas are most active at night. If you look in the daytime though, it will be hiding in a dark place like a shoe or behind something. If you have an arboreal tarantula like a Pink Toes, then you will have to look up, because they are climbers. Good Luck. We have had them loose in our pet shop many times. We usually find them when we are cleaning behind things.
