Don't get me wrong, he's hilarious and was a heck of a player. But he analyzes the games like he actually won a ring or something. He really doesn't have any room to talk (no matter how much he goes on about the good ole days when he played lol)

I defend Barkley.

Just because he didn't win a ring; doesn't mean he doesn't know the game. He talk's a lot of smack; but he's fun and interesting to watch. And like A-rod says: Charles says things that people are afraid to talk about. That takes courage and balls. Two character traits that most people lack.

That is something to admire in an age where every frickin thing on cable television is controlled. Yeah...Charles may be a little salty that he'll never experience an NBA championship...but the man speaks his own truth...most people tuck their tail between their legs doing their best not to walk the line.

Call him what you want; but he ain't the status quo.

Barkley says what is on his mind, which makes it seem like he's talking smack. I give him credit for saying things that other announcers won't because they want to smile for the camera and toe the company line with tired cliches and other crap. I appreciate his honesty, because he definitely calls it like he sees it, and even when he's wrong (see the Cleveland Cavs), most of the time he ends up getting it right.

But he played the game to such a degree that if he had a better team he would have won a ring. He also had the misfortune of playing when Jordon played.

Still...he talks a lot of stuff.

But he's funny.

Yes he does. Simply because he was a good player does not automatically make him an expert analyst. Half of the time he drawls his speech. Why people find his "humor" even remotely funny is beyond my comprehension. All around, Barkley's rambling is annoying and needs to be put out to pasture.

Yes he does, but as you said the guy is hilarious. His goal is to amuse and entertain, whether you like him or not. Just don't take him seriously. And yes, he was a heck of a player! I hope people remember him for it.

Barkley once cried because he never got a ring. I give him his props. He's just having fun.

not winning a title has nothing to do with his job..he does a good job and has insight into the game and its situations.

Actually, other than the occasional fantastic game, that's ALL he ever did is talk....and eat.
