Terrorism is effectively an act of aggression not supported by a recognized military institution against a largely civilian population.

It is not this concept that has changed the world but rather it is revolutions in communicational, transportational and military technology (in the form of ever more "efficient" explosives) that have made a difference.

Oh yes, and geopolitical instigators also. In other words terrorism is a product rather than the cause.

terrorism has caused the people of America and the rest of the world to live in fear.fear of the thought of a world war breaking out, fear of flying, fear of traveling on a public transportation or even going to a public places. i would say it has it has made a big change, right now its every country for them selves it seams that this is how they are operating. all this fear and tension has risen to a point where any least remark or any little problem from another country will lead to total chaos big change isn't it ?

Well, anyone does the slightest thing here in the US that 30 years ago or so would of just got them a slap on the wrist is being freaked out over and way drawn out. "We'll call Homeland Security on you!" I've heard more than once since 9/11. Not on me no, but on others, for things that were petty crimes, pranks, etc. I thought Homeland Security was to protect us from FOREIGN terrorists?

well it seems that it has changed it a whole lot . And it's only getting worse . Because of terrorism we now have no privacy . We might not have had it to begin with , but now ther's a reason for them to invade evrybodies privacy and get away with it . They use this so called Patriot act and theres nothing that we can do about it

Well before intelligent terrorists who had a legit grip or where trying to change something within reason hyjacked something, took hostages and people could negotiate with them and often their very fair grips ie (stop bombing, persecution, give equal rights, get bully troups out, give country a share of oil wealth youbtaking from us or aslum from the taliban who want to kill us)

Now instead you have reglious nuts who just want to kill people for nasty bully relgious beleifs where they can stone girls who dont let guys control the sex lives and muder gays to please their eveil god.

consequently The americans can fake a bombing against them to justify any war and invasion they like to steal oil
