my name is Tom Nelson and im from louisiana. I still hear alot of dtuff from the media and fans about how better the pac-10, big-10, big-12, and ACC are in football, which i don't believe because i say the SEC is the toughest throughout the nation. Like take last season for example; the bcs and voters wanted either michigan to play ohio state again after they've lost against Ohio State or they've would've put USC against ohio state if they'd won against UCLA to play in the title game despite the fact that florida had beaten Arkanasas to win the SEC championship while being #2 over #3 USC before winning the SEC title. Why the voters and media did not want florida to play in the title game? Maybe they did not wanted to see how dominant a team from the deep south were against other teams in other conferences that they say we're the most dominant. In fact, back in the '04 season despite Auburn going undefeated the voters instead put Oklahoma in the title game against USC.

i am from texas and i have to omit the sec is the best conference. the only downfall is that it is impossible to stay undefeated in the sec. there should be a playoff system. and then we will really find out who is who.

I'm tired of hearing about how the Big 10 or the Pac 10 has won more championships than the SEC in the last 10 or 20 years. That is the point of this discussion,if Auburn,LSU,or Florida was not in the SEC you would have had 3 12-0 teams last year.Matter of fact LSU wouldn't have lost in at least 3 or 4 years. The whole conference is full of teams that are very good teams.Georgia in2005 are the only SEC champs to lose their Bowl in a while.

Sorry, your uncle dod. Boise State? Let's see Georgia beat them 45-13 two years ago after their13-1 season and all it's hype. I was there, Georgia was deep into it's bench 5 mins into the 3d quarter, Boise State just wanted out of there. The score could have been worse-far worse. Oh yeah, when comparing bowls look at the rank of each team per conference, as in Georgia the number 5 team in the SEC last year beat the number 2 team from the ACC VATech. Also, in the last 10 years Georgia beat Ohio State and Wisconsin (twice) and Purdue in bowl games. Also, when you play a tough in conference schedule like the SEC you can't schedule tough outside opponents and expect to compete in a National Championship. Southern Cal plays no one in the Pac 10 and OSU and Michigan only play each other (finally Wisconsin is putting something on the table). The Big 10 needs a conference championship game! GOOOO!!! DAWGS!!!! WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF.

By asking this question twice, I assume you are desperate.

And who's this "we"? Did you play or coach last year?

I am for the smaller conferences who can't wait to play a blow-up doll conference like the SEC without all the hype and mop them up. Long live Cinderella. I wish Boise State had been national champs last year.

From a big 10 guy...the SEC is very very tough. The ACC is a joke....pac 10 is a joke....big 10 depends on the year. Top to bottom though the SEC is crazy. Ouch, that hurt to say.....
