Your catfish would be an egglayer. Do you know what kind it is? When I hear albino catfish, it's usually a corydoras: http://www.fishlore.com/Profiles-Corydoras.htm , albino rainbow: http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?pCatId=1171 , or albino channel cat: http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/catfish/albino.php The corydoras would be the easiest to breed in an aquarium, but they're more comfortable (and you'd have better odds of having at least one male and one female) in groups of 4-6 or more. A channel cat will be a real tankbuster, as these can get over 2 feet, and rainbows

You an tell the males and females apart only as they mature, so the one you have may still be too young to know. The females are usually larger and plumper than the males. In the rainbows, the male's bottom fin near the tail is outlined in black.

If you know they type of catfish you've got, just google it's name and "spawning" and you should find information on how to go about it.

Copperhead is correct. They are egg layers. I have 3 corydora's in my community tank. I did some research on them because I kept seeing small bubbles underneath my plant leaves. Turns out I have a female somewhere in the tank, but no fry have survived. When they spawn the male will encircle the female and they will then embrace in a T form. The female will then lay the fertilized eggs on different surfaces. Here is a link with alot of information on it..

i've got used catfish as cutbait and it fairly works properly. i'm going to fillet a a million-2 pound cat and then cut back the countless meat alongside the backbone for bait. i've got used entralls earlier, too, and that they artwork (even nonetheless the turtles love that). i think of the tail could be good for cut back bait, yet have not used it. whilst i exploit cutbait I frequently carry on with bluegill, nonetheless. I desire stay bait and dip bait to cut back bait, yet you gotta pass with what the fish are biting. My grandpa used lifeless chicks (he raised chickens) on a trot line.

Do not "sex" the fish yourself. They "sex" themselves. If they miss their period, barf in the morning and cry for no reason go buy a pregnancy test. I'm not sure how you are going to get it in the fishes urine stream without taking her out of the water.
