This is a stupid question, but its bugging the hell out of me.

I saw a 2006 PT Cruiser GT with something that looks like a plastic towel hanger above the glove compartment. You know those (usually) metal bars in your bathroom, by the shower, where you hang your towel? It looks exactly like that but its plastic, just above the glove compartment. I have no idea what it's for. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Maybe it's exactly what you thought, a towel hanger? This car is so ugly anyway, why not put a towel hanger inside?

It serves as a handle for the front seat passenger either to go up and down from the vehicle

Its just something for the passenger to hold on to. You can see that on many small cars. They are there because the small cars dont really have many things to hold on to when you turn.

Aesthetically it shouldnt be there. Practically its a good support. Like hooks on minivans above doors. Just to hold on to.

I've always called it a grab bar, or a panic bar.
