Doris Day was in a lot of mostly lighthearted Musicals but there was one Musical where she was cast against type,,playing a serious roll opposite James Cagney who took second billing to his leading lady. The movie was called Love Me Or Leave Me.She proved that she could play any part after getting rave revues from the critics.So that is her greatest film in my opinion.As for her other movies i would pick Calamity Jane.
