Indian president is the supreme commander of the Indian armed forces. He is the head of the Government and presides over all the ceremonies of the Government like republic day, opening of the Parliament after election etc. He has to sign and approve all legislations, appointments and budget.
He does not have any financial powers as such other than signing all budgets, allotments, all papers and requirement sent by different ministries etc.

The President is accorded honors in formal ceremonies and approves financial disbursements for the government but with the approval of the Legislature.
