Sounds like your battery or your alternator is going bad. The overheating is most likely caused by your voltage dropping really low and your electric fan now working properly. You can try starting up your car with the hood up and then, with the motor running, disconnect the negative battery cable. If the motor dies after a couple of seconds it is your alternator that is bad, it should have enough power to keep the car running without a battery if good. If it keeps running it might just be a bad connection on a battery cable or the battery might be bad, but usually a bad battery will just effect start-up. Hope this helped.

Make sure your serpentine belt is tensioned properly. You can easily check it by grabbing the belt at it's longest point and then twist it. You should only be able to turn it 1/4-1/2 the way over. Another way to check is to push hard on the long side. It should deflect about an inch. If the belt shows any signs of cracking on the ribbed side, replace it. Also, I recommend replacing any belt it if it has over 80,000 miles on it. If you are unsure how to change the belt, check out a Hayne's or Chilton's manual at your library.

hmmm....a great form of excellent ones have already been stated plus there r some tremendously cool sounding horns already.... i might like a medley i assume, that way each and each time i honk there is something new. My 1st determination could be Queens 'Bohemian Rhapsody' the full version, in common terms for the exciting of it. i could be confident to play it if caught in a jam. 2nd determination could be Queens 'yet another One Bites the airborne dirt and dust' for while somebody tries to bypass me. and then i might prefer to get a quote of of the undying classic A Christmas tale 'you will shoot your eye out youngster!'

Sounds like your alternators not putting out like it should. Heating up could be a number of things low water, not enough anti freeze, dirty radiator, radiator hose gets hot and sucks shut.

yes .....sound,s like a loose alternator belt.....or a weak alternator.......if you have separate belt,s make sure they are properly adjusted.....if you have a single serpentine belt...check the tension er & the belt for wear....they can stretch beyond their limit......have a volt meter?.....check your battery for voltage across the top [ engine not running]...should read 12.5 volt,s....start your engine....should read 13.5 to 14.5 maximum.....if not your alternator is weak...the voltage test must be done after you insure your belt,s are in working order......good luck!
