If my pc has been unused for a while, even minutes at times, it freezes upon trying to logon. I have to reboot everytime to use it. Also I always get a popup that says "Some startup programs have been blocked". I've clicked on the popup and it has the item that is blocked, but I don't recognize it so I won't open it.

Actually, it says WINDOWS HAS BLOCKED SOME STARTUP PROGRAMS. I have Norton Protection, so I assume that's the problem with the popup. What do I do?

Don't knock yourself so quick. You're wise NOT to click on or open anything you don't recognize or feel a hunch it might not be legit.

When was the last time you ran a anti-virus scanner on your PC? When was the last time you ran a anti-spyware scan on your PC? If "huh???" is the answer to either one or both, then it's assumed you've NEVER done either your PC may have several nasty viruses on your hard drive that seem to be doing what you describe.

I'd look into getting a good anti-virus scanner that also removes spyware. Feel free to contact me for more info on this, OK?

Just at first glance at this it sounds like some security software is blocking these programs from StartUp, like StartUp Cop, from System Mechanic 6. If you don't have a security feature that does this, than I'd have to say some 'baddies',(trojan, spyware, etc.) have infiltrated.
