Agree with first poster, check your temps and humidity levels. Try dabbing the area with a cotton swab dipped in hydrogen peroxide 3% as the initial treatment. Peroxide is useful as the first step as it helps to remove pus and dead tissue. It is a bit harsh on newly forming tissue so the next step is dabbing the area with Betadine solution (10 % povidone iodine) once or twice daily. The swabs should not be wet to the point where either solution runs into the mouth. If you don't start to see improvement in a day or so ( I wouldn't let it wait any longer) then a vet and systemic antibiotics are recommended.

Usually mouth rot is caused by poor husbandry or infection after an injury. It does sound like mouth rot or possibly an abscess. Sounds like a vet visit is needed, and depending on the severity it may require either topical treatment or antibiotic injections.

attempt Sulmet (sulfamethazine). Your vet won't comprehend this even even though it fairly is dissolved in an alkaline answer. shop irrigating the chameleon's mouth with the answer of sulfamethazine until eventually the mouthrot clears up or the lizard dies.
